Lip blushing

What does the before, after, healed and touchup look like?

Above, you can see exactly what to expect from lip blushing. In this example, the client had less defined borders in her natural lips, so we focused on enhancing and defining her natural lip shape. As shown in the healed result, her lips look more defined and balanced, while still maintaining a natural appearance. The final result is her lips, but enhanced, more noticeable and well-defined, perfect for anyone seeking a subtle, natural look. We did a minimal touch-up to ensure her lips looked refreshed without the appearance of heavy lipstick.

Above, you can see how the lips look immediately after the tattooing process—they appear intense and more like lipstick. However, don't be alarmed, as the healed version will be a much softer, more natural look. The colour will soften and settle into a beautiful, subtle finish as it heals.

This client wanted a very natural finish, and that’s exactly what she got. The result enhances her lips without looking overly bold. She has the option to go darker in the future if she desires, but with a natural look, you can never go wrong.

Important

When booking, please be realistic when choosing your lip color. Brown shades are not recommended, but feel free to bring your favourite lip pencil or lipstick, and we’ll do our best to match it. Keep in mind that the colour may not be an exact match due to the natural tone of your lips.

Do I need neutralising?

Neutralising is necessary for lips that have existing pigmentation, as it helps to brighten and even out these areas. You may need multiple sessions to achieve the desired results. Since this is a new service, please refrain from booking directly and reach out to Alycia to discuss the best options for your specific needs.

How much is the treatment?

Your first lip blushing appointment is valued at $250 (due to this being a new service) with a recommended touch-up 6-12 weeks later priced at $150.

What about future appointments?

Annual touch-ups can be booked online as needed to maintain the colour and shape of your lips.

Does the treatment hurt?

The majority of my clients find the treatment slightly uncomfortable but nothing unbearable. Numbing cream can be purchased online with a link sent to you once the appointment has been booked.

How many treatments do I need to achieve my desired result?

Everyone is very different in terms of this. Rarely, you will only require 1 treatment. The majority of clients require 2 and, in some cases you may need 3 which will be discussed in the consultation.

How long do results last?

This is a semi-permanent procedure meaning that over time your lip blush will fade. It can last anywhere from 8months-2years+ but colour will never completely disappear.

Healing Process

(DAY 1)
Immediately after the treatment, your lips will appear darker, bolder, and slightly swollen. This is normal as the pigment is freshly applied and swelling occurs. The colour will soften and the lips will shrink once the healing process progresses.

(DAY 2-5)
The lips will continue to darken, and you may notice a thicker layer on top. This is part of the healing process as the lips are considered an open wound in the first 24-48 hours. Lymph fluid may excrete from the area, and a scab will start to form. It’s similar to how a scab forms over a wound. Expect some itchiness as part of this process.

(DAY 5-14)
The scabs will start to crack and naturally fall off. Do not pick, pull, or tug at them to allow them to fall off on their own. Healing times vary from person to person. Factors like stress, nutrition, age, and other health conditions can influence the healing time. Mature clients may experience a longer healing period, and for every decade over 40, you can generally add a week to the healing process.

(DAY 14)
By day 14, all scabs should have fallen off, and the color of your lips will appear lighter than it will be after the full 6-week healing process. The lips may look patchy, especially after just one session.

(DAY 28)
Around day 28, the true shape and color of your lips should start to emerge. The healing process should be nearing completion, with the skin fully regenerated, revealing your final lip blushing results.
